Chucknee is a instrumental band hailing from Brisbane's inner-city haunts. Their particular kooky brand of twangy surf, lounge, exotica together with a less-than-serious stage show has won them plenty of fans. This enjoyable leftfield diversion from the usual Turkyneck garage fare will appeal to fans of Dick Dale, the Raybeats and classic surf bands of the 60's on, assuming they are perverse.
This album is the culmination three different Chucknee lineups. Firstly the surf exotica type they normally would employ in a live band setting.The second is a fourteen piece polka band and the third is dreamy cantonese psychedelica.
Where they exist a majority of vocals are by Rollo from Brisbane Punk institution Blowhard. Other players on this album includes members of Godnose, SixftHick and Blowhard. Mr Chucknee himself is a top notch riffin' guitarist who's also a member of the internationally touring contemporary Deep Blue Orchestra.
