MAILORDER FAQS

To make life easier to get back to menus at the top of long pages, we have installed a double click feature that allows you to return to the top of the page when you double click anywhere in empty background space. There is no need to scroll on these pages, just double click! This works with most browsers.

1. THE CATALOGUE

The catalogue page contains everything we stock. As you browse down the page you will find items catalogued by band name, item title, cost in Australian Dollars and then a brief description. It is noted where the item is not a CD.

If you are interested in further information on a title, a link is usually provided that will display, at a minimum, cover artwork and a track listing. Musician credits, production credits and points of interest are displayed where time permits. Merchandise links display t-shirt or caps designs plus indicate the design size in relation to the actual size of the item. The back to catalogue link on any of these pages will take you back to the point in the catalogue you linked from or you can proceed to the order page if desired.

To make the catalogue easier to navigate a drop down menu is provided at the top of the page that lists the most popular bands. Just click on the band name you are interested in and you will be taken to the first item in that band's section. To get back quickly to the menu simply double click anywhere in the background space.

2. FILLING OUT THE ORDER FORM

Our form doesn't work with some browsers. If you suspect this or don't hear back from us within three working days, email us!

Otherwise our forms are very standard and you may want to skip over the following instructions.

If you want to order any titles, use your mouse to enter how many of each into the box at the end of the title description as you scroll down the list. Then fill in the customer information boxes at the bottom of the page with your name and address details and let us know how you're going to pay. You are required to fill in the email field; otherwise the form will not work. You may also like to answer some of the additional questions that may help us process the order more efficiently. Use your keyboard's TAB button to quickly scroll from box to box. If you feel you need to redo the form at any time, click on the reset form button to clear your written information and start again.

When you have finished, click on the submit order button and the form will be automatically sent to us. You will then be presented with a confirmation page which lists all your order details that we hope you will double check. If you need to change any of your order details you should use your browser's back button to return to the form and make the changes. Then resend the order by again pressing the submit button. We are able to identify rejected submissions and ignore them.

We will process your order as soon as we get it and will confirm with you by email the total cost including postage and handling. If you want to print out the form, use the print page button at the bottom of the page.

You are under no obligation to buy, so don't worry about placing an order to get a quote. If you have any specific questions use the query box. We are happy to answer these if we can. Once again, if you think there has been a problem with the form don't hesitate to email us!

You can of course e-mail us direct at any time regardless. Regular customers who know what they want may find this preferable to having to use the form each time they want to place an order.

Our e-mail address is: jsp1@citadelmailorder.com

3. HOW TO PAY

Australian Customers

Our preferred payment form is PayPal although we accept Visa and Mastercard via our merchant facility.

With Visa and Mastercard we provide a secure payment system that we know to be secure. Your card details are never sent using email and are not store in any networked or stand alone computers. For more details on how we handle your credit card details please read our security procedures. You can always phone or post your card details if you have reservations regarding security issues.

Money orders are accepted (sorry we longer take personal cheques) and must be posted to our street address.

Direct Debit is available. We will email you the procedure to follow. Direct debit can take up to 5 days so it is on occasion slow.

International Customers

PLEASE NOTE: all mailorder prices are quoted in Australian Dollars (AUD).

Unfortunately, due to the current strength of the AUD and escalating postage charges, our items have become expensive particularly against the USD. We're sorry but have little control over oil prices.

After PayPal and credit cards, the most reliable payment method is Western Union. The procedure is simple. You go to any Western Union office and make the payment to us in Australian Dollars. They will give you a reference number that you then email to us. We then go to a local office in Sydney and get given the cash. If you prefer this form of payment let us know and we will give you precise details.

For any other form of payment please confirm with us first. We will accept International Money Orders and bank transfers (in Australian Dollars only) but warn you that these are costly and frequently difficult to organise. We do not advise sending cash.

Use our currency conversion page to get an idea of the cost in your local currency. Please be aware that this figure will probably be different to your final credit card charge due to foreign exchange fluctuations and credit card company charges. Don't forget to estimate the postage and add this to your total if you want a more accurate approximation. A weight calculator is available from the order page and is described below.

We will always confirm your order with you before any billing or delivery. This avoids any problems created by incorrect additions or postage approximations made by yourself.

4. USING THE CURRENCY CONVERTER

If you're an overseas customer and you want a rough idea of what your order will cost in your local currency, we have provided a currency converter for your use. Just click on the currency converter link at the top or bottom of the order page and a pop-up window will present you with the form. Just add in the amount that you think your order will cost (the Australian dollar cost plus postage) and then browse down the right-hand list and select your local currency.

Once you have done this, click the convert now button and a new page opens with the results. Please be aware that you have used your own estimate of the order cost and this may be incorrect. We reserve the right to set the final price of any order although we do of course always confirm this price with you. Also, your credit card company may charge a higher rate than the rate of the day that the currency converter's owner (Oanda) has used.

The right-hand list is set on US dollars as the default so if you are paying in this currency it's as easy as entering the Australian dollar amount and pressing the convert now button. Should you wish to use the full functionality of the converter, you can reset the left-hand list from the default of Australian dollars to any currency you wish.

5. SECURITY AND YOUR CREDIT CARD DETAILS

Our policy is to protect your credit card details as if they were our own!

We use a secure server that utilises 128bit SSL encryption with a digital certificate issued by Thawte. This is to encrypt all data as it is transferred over the Internet. At no time are your credit card details sent via email or viewed by a third party. A dedicated firewall machine is installed to control access to the secure server. The secure server is isolated from all other networked machines. All credit card numbers stored on the server are encrypted using 3DES encryption.

After you have registered your details we view them and then phone them through to our bank who authorizes the transaction. At this time we delete the details from the secure service. This means that unless you have registered them over the weekend, the details are stored on the server for usually no more than 24 hours. Thereafter the details are stored in our office for 3 months on official bank stationery that we are obliged by the bank to keep. After this time we shred this paperwork. We will store your details for longer if you specifically authorize us to do so.

6. WORKING OUT THE EIGHT OF AN ORDER

cd album cd ep double cd book t-shirt caps packaging
100g70g130g400g240g70g minimum 45g

These weights are given as a rough guide only. You will be notified of the correct postage when your order is confirmed. It is especially difficult to predict the weight of T-shirts, due to differences in size and cotton thickness.

Please be aware that there is a weight difference between jewel case and slimline case releases. You may assume your title is in the lighter slimline case if it is a single or EP when in fact some of these come in the heavier jewel case. All titles that come in slimline cases are identified on both the order and catalogue pages.

We will attempt to minimise your postage at every instance.

8. UNDERSTANDING IMPORT DUTIES

All countries have a system of import duties payable on imported foreign goods. The level at which your order may attract these duties varies from country to country and no set figure can be given. This is beyond our control although we can advise that large orders that may attract duties can be broken up into smaller orders and posted over a period of time. Usually the increase in postage is negligible so if your order is over $100AUD you may wish to ask us about exploring this avenue.

9. RETURNS POLICY

We accept returns. Please pay attention to these following conditions.

The most commonly returned goods are T-shirts that are found to be the wrong size after arrival. Please take care when choosing T-shirts, especially American customers. Australian sizes tend to be marginally smaller than their American counterparts.
